What is happening to jobs? Separating AI hype from realityDevin and Cline were the original true "agents" IIRC. Aider was the original terminal "agent" but it was't a true agent, it was sort of a hybrid agentic chat, since it had limited recursion ability (3 turns by default) and you had to configure it carefully to make it consistently take multiple turns in a row. If that were true, then Kilo Code, Claude Code, Cline, Pi, and Command Code would not be occupying 5 of the top 10 apps using OpenRouter. People have purchased 20 trillion tokens this month already for coding on OpenRouter alone at full-price market rates. Would you commission a study about whether cars are really a faster form of locomotion before deciding to purchase one? There is empirical data right in front of your face. You're just choosing to exclude it because of where you already stand. That's exactly what Feynman was warning about.view source ↗

Never EnoughJust the building process. I maintain my own full-stack JS framework and build apps on top of it. Case in point: I was able to ship this [1] in one month flat at a quality level that doesn't make me squirm to release. That same product would have easily been 60-90 days (if not longer) purely by hand for me in the past. [1] https://fortivibe.comview source ↗

Kimi K3: second only to Fable 5 on AA-BriefcaseWhat harness do they use for testing? Back in 2025 it was common to test models in a different harnesses. I remember watching a guy on youtube, who was testing every new model in opencode, cline, codex, claude, etc. Why did it come out of fashion ? Paying "API rates" however can prove expensive compared to coding plans (for instance, MiniMax $20/mo coding plan allows 1.7b tokens; depending on input/output/cache ratio, it is worth $200 to $500+), except for Hy3 , DeepSeek v4 Pro , and MiMo v2.5 Pro (whose API rates are cheap and/or discounted already). If you're looking to not have to deal with Chinese providers, AtlasCode ($20/mo), OpenCode Go ($10/mo), and Cline Pass ($10/mo) provide 2x to 6x usage for some of the popular open weights (depending on the model). Personally, I subscribe to Z.ai ($17/mo), and pay API rates for MiMo v2.5 , Hy3 , Qwen 3.7 Plus , & DeepSeek v4 to the original providers (Xiaomi, Tencent, Alibaba, & DeepSeek).view source ↗

Show HN: I Wanted AI Code Review I Could Own. So I Built CodraThere's some overlap since Codra also lets you use your own provider. But Cline and Continue live in your editor and you use them yourself. Codra runs on its own and reviews PRs, posting comments right on the PR. Different thing, not really a swap. It's an early-stage project so I expect to add a lot more! There's some overlap since Codra also lets you use your own provider. But Cline and Continue live in your editor and you use them yourself. Claude Code sends 33k tokens before reading the prompt; OpenCode sends 7kI recently started using cline instead of opencode and prefer the interface.
