I downgraded at the right time. I’ve used both Opus 5.5 & 6.1 Sol extensively. 6.1 Sol is a child compared to Opus. There is a huge quality difference in the output. I downgraded at the right time. It's possible for tech layoffs to be both individually tragic and collectively bullish. Whether they're triggered by efficiencies or otherwise, they free up talent to tackle the next set of problems and opportunities. This is how the frontier keeps moving forward! Insane how things turned around for Anthropic and OpenAI. Competition is great and I'd like OpenAI to release a model that actually challenges Opus 5.5 on quality and limits. But for now they have nothing. Add to that the $200 sub nerfs and the new $500 plan... All what is left now is how good Astra was with blender… Insane how things turned around for Anthropic and OpenAI. It was almost impossible for a programmer who wrote all their code by hand to divorce their ego from the output.
