They're burning Opus-level intelligence on tasks Haiku can handle in parallel while Sonnet does the actual building. Here's a smarter setup: → Sonnet handles the main session, writes code and runs tests → Haiku spawns parallel subagents to search files, parse code and fetch docs → Opus acts as your architect, reviewing plans, debugging dead ends and catching regressions The trick? Opus doesn't need to be involved in every decision. Call it in at 3 critical moments: 1. Before locking the plan. Catch broken assumptions and architectural mistakes. 2. After the same test fails twice. Find the root cause instead of looping. 3. Before shipping. Review the full diff for hidden regressions. The result: faster execution, better parallelism, and your most capable model focused on decisions that actually need it. Sonnet builds. Haiku swarms. Opus reviews. The same principle applies to agent frameworks like JEV, where simple routing decisions can be handled without waking up a frontier model. You can set this up in Claude Code by asking it to configure the model roles and advisor checkpoints, then review every config diff before applying changes. My wife is out of town (but I would've been helping either way). Last night at 10 PM my 3yo started screaming because she threw up. Full clothes, sheet replace, calm kid down, full bed cycle. At the same time, our sump pump alarm goes off. Totally unrelated but horrifyingly loud and a pretty big home emergency. I ended up having daughter chill on the couch for a second while I wrapped the alarm in duct tape to block the noise until I could diagnose later. I couldn't just flip the breaker because that breaker is connected ONLY the kids room AC and we have a heat wave. Once I got my kid down, started calling emergency plumbers because this happened once before and very shortly after raw sewage started coming up out of the ground. Luckily got it figured before that this time. Ended up getting to bed at 1 AM. Have to wake up at 6 AM because that's when 5 month old gets up. Just another day on the wild rollercoaster of parenting with a fun dose of homeownership.view source ↗

Open tight on Taiwan and TSMC's fabs in Hsinchu: this one island makes about 90% of the world's most advanced chips. Pull out to show the supply chain flowing into it: chip designs from the United States (Apple, Nvidia), the EUV machines that only the Netherlands' ASML can build, and specialty chemicals from Japan. Then the finished chips ship out to the rest of the world. Then the risk: mainland China sits just across the Taiwan Strait, about 130 km at its narrowest, and a blockade would cut the world off from those chips. End on the whole picture: one island holding up the global economy, the "silicon shield". Use flags for the United States, the Netherlands, Japan, Taiwan and China, supply routes into Taiwan, shipping routes out, and a blockade ring around Taiwan. 16:9. ADD ONE BEAT, right after the risk across the Taiwan Strait: THE NAVY AT SEA. Tilted, close on the strait (span ~6-8): a column of warships sails through the Taiwan Strait and others patrol the sea around the island, steadily moving, nose first. Draw them with the style's warship swarm (kind 'warship'), never generated images. A hero label on the strait, and a short narration line built only from this fact: US Navy warships regularly sail through the Taiwan Strait.view source ↗
