• twitter 1w positiveEveryone will tell you to "go easy" on yourself, but no one achieves great things that way. Great people are brutally hard on themselves, expect 200x more of themselves than of others, and hold a standard that is incredibly high. More should be "hard on themselves." They brought us the sexual revolution and the divorce epidemic and mass migration, and plunged the country into trillions of dollars of debt in the process. Same task, same agent, and token use can swing more than 10x between runs, mostly because every later call rereads the context earlier steps added. It learns a cost per execution segment, composes them, and refreshes the forecast in 32.8 ms with no extra LLM calls. Against a fixed budget it hit the same completion rate on 21.3% fewer tokens. A fixed token budget is a guess you make before the agent has done anything. https://t.co/IjARVAkT6Mview source ↗

For years founders bragged about how big their teams were. “We just crossed 100 employees.” “We're hiring 50 people this year.” But with AI... I wonder if the flex starts going the other direction. If 2 startups are doing $10M in revenue and one needs 100 people while the other needs 15. I'd have a lot of questions.. Smaller teams can move way faster. There are way fewer meetings. Way less management and way less overhead. And potentially way more profit. I think we're going to see some insanely valuable companies built by teams that would've looked way too small just a few years ago. Maybe the new founder flex is how few people it took to build the thing. P.S. thinking about selling your startup? Our team will help you understand what your business is worth, prepare it for buyers, and guide you through the entire acquisition process. Meet the team here: https://t.co/6hqLR8R6KGview source ↗

• twitter 1w positiveChina has fallen behind in the AI race. In July, Kimi K3 was supposed to be China's answer to American AI. Today it couldn't even render a lava lamp. Claude Sonnet 5.5 and GPT 6.1 Sol nailed it. Those are America's mid tier models. Right now, China can't keep up with America's second best. China has fallen behind in the AI race. Whenever I hear people say "Kubernetes is overkill" I think they're mostly missing the point. I want a "PaaS"-like experience, but self-hosted. And my setup does this super well: - Forgejo (self-hosted git) - Docker images - Kubernetes (k3s) And this doesn't have to be insanely complex.
