Here are the key architectural design decisions behind state-of-the-art systems like Grokbot, from @leerob's lecture in my Stanford class 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗻 𝗦𝗼𝗳𝘁𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿: 𝗗𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗳𝗹𝗼𝘄𝘀 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗷𝗼𝗯 𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘂𝗲𝘀: long-running agents hit crashes mid-task, so every step needs to safely retry and resume without redoing finished work. Use libraries like @temporalio. 𝗚𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗮 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝘂𝘁𝗲𝗿: a full Linux VM, browser, and file system, with skills and memories stored as plain markdown files it can read and write. 𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗿, 𝗱𝗼𝗻'𝘁 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲: users give high-level direction while a separate review model handles safety checks on individual commands. 𝗢𝗻𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘁, 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀: the main agent keeps the conversation lean and delegates heavy work to subagents that start with fresh context. That is how you get the illusion of infinite context.
