But the system rejected that plan on its own, deciding it would exceed its authority Instead, it left handover notes and alerted a researcher. After receiving an API key, it carried out a routine migration itself The company does not consider this episode misalignment, meaning behavior that goes against human intentions and constraints However, the same model had already been involved in serious incidents.
