Over the past six months, we’ve looked at hundreds of companies, asking which businesses would become more valuable as AI advances. Bumble stood out. As intelligence becomes more abundant, we believe connecting with the right person and forming meaningful relationships will become even more precious. And frontier technology can help more people find and build those relationships. Our purpose at Ithaca is to apply frontier technology to things that matter. We acquire enduring businesses, transform them with technology, and hold for the long term. We focus on businesses not only for their financial potential but their ability to enrich lives. Whitney and her team have built something extraordinary. Millions of relationships began on Bumble, and we’re honored to help take it into its next era. Together we intend to build the best company in the world for helping people find each other. Let’s get to work.view source ↗

Then a creator asks for $100, with no guaranteed ROI, and they turn into Charlie Munger and want proof of return before they spend a cent. This exact mindset is the #1 campaign killer in UGC, and the picture below explains it better than I ever will: The guy on top turns around one swing away from the diamonds. The guy underneath keeps digging. This is UGC in a nutshell. That mindset shows up as a founder who stops EVERYTHING the second CPMs tick up, or as a founder who gives the whole channel 30 days to prove itself. You wouldn't run your life like that. Nobody sane dumps his girlfriend after a month because she did one small thing that annoyed him. Quitting the gym after 4 weeks because your hamstrings are sore and you somehow aren't CBUM yet sounds insane when you say it out loud. And walking out of boxing after your first spar because your partner caught you clean and left a small cut? That guy will never become a fighter. Here's why you have to give UGC time. Across our programs, 96% of videos land under 10K views. Around 0.3% break 500K, and that 0.3% drives about 65% of ALL views. So you need a lot of videos. If you have 10 creators each posting twice a day, that's about 600 videos a month. Nobody predicts which video lands in the 0.3%. The best thing you can do is give your creators enough shots to find it. Expect the first month of running UGC to look average. You're paying to find out what works, and the results come after. Here's what to look at in your first month instead of CPM: - Which of your formats beats the others on saves and shares - Which creators beat their own median views - Which comments keep showing up (those become next month's hooks) - Which hook got even one outlier, because that's the one you clone Then stick to these 3 rules: 1. Never kill the channel off one bad week 2. Cut formats and creators on day 14 to 21, keep the program 3. Build monview source ↗

You meet them and they're not the biggest guys, they're not the toughest guys, they're not trying to fucking be hard, and, you know, they're the most relaxed, at ease." "I found myself just being like, finally I was like, what can I just ask, what do you think makes somebody like qualify for the Delta Force? Like, what's a good Delta operator? It's like, 'You know, problem solving.' Problem solving? The guy goes, 'Yeah, it's probably like your job.'" "I was like, 'No, let me tell you something. No, it isn't. It's really not like my job. I appreciate it. Very big fucking difference.' He's like, 'Yeah, you solve problems.' Again, no one's trying to kill me." "See, that's the thing. But that was the closest insight I got to it, which was, I've always kind of thought this about like a guy's like, like Brady or something. There's guys that just don't get tight, and that they are kind of able to problem solve when the problem is like, well, that helicopter's crashed and we're 200 miles inside Afghanistan and we're outnumbered fucking six to one. How do you think we should get home?"view source ↗

They set the standard for product quality and user experience. They moved to @autumnpricing because they needed a single, reliable engine to monetize all the new products they ship, and their growing enterprise motion meant a lot more custom contracts to manage. Resend is the most downloaded email API in the world and growing like crazy. We’re super proud they chose us to meter, enforce and bill their highest-volume workloads.view source ↗

Use [strict] keywords only. 2. Keywords = competitor's name. 3. Split campaigns by territory group. 4. Adjust CPT for each (i.e US is more). 5. Use the recommended CPT from apple. 6. Make sure you have a cracked app store page. 7. Hire someone to do your screenshots or use AI. 8. Use the new store assets!! Search banners etc. 9. Budget about $25/day at first, increase ongoing. 10. Wait to see how the ads spend over 2 days. 11. No spend = competition spending more. 12. Increase the CPT until you find a good balance. 13. Export data, give to Claude to find winners. 14. Scale those further. Note: Apple ads is like ASO, it won't work if your niche is insanely saturated. The ideal situation: one big app doing organic, where people search for the name (and keyword) and then get shown our hyper targeted ad. Another point: some industries won't work for indie devs. For example, finance. Big companies will buy their own keywords at $25 per tap just to spite the competition. Positioning matters way more with Apple ads.view source ↗

Aonic Club is one of the first attempts to apply AI directly to that gap. They manufacture their own protein and supplement products, use AI for operations and sourcing, and price everything at cost. The membership fee is how the business makes money. They’re beginning in a high-repeat category and say they want to expand into broader daily goods. Whether the quality and savings hold up as they scale is the part worth watching.view source ↗

His walking-around money was $240,000 a month. In January 2004 his total income was $38.38. He filed for bankruptcy at 37. Owed $38 million to 246 creditors. The IRS alone wanted $19.4 million. His divorce records listed where it went. $410,000 on one birthday party. $230,000 on cell phones and pagers. $125,000 a year for a tiger trainer. His promoter Don King took 30 percent of everything. Tyson claimed King had been defrauding him since 1988. He sued for $100 million. King settled for $14 million. Every dollar went to creditors. At the 2017 SALT Conference he described the people from those years. I can’t even call them leeches. That’s too decent of a word to call them. $400 million bought him a tiger and 246 creditors. $38.38 bought him quiet.view source ↗
